Caring for your candle
A little attention goes a long way. These simple habits help your candle burn evenly, stay clean, and last longer.
First burn
Let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the vessel the first time you light it. This usually takes a few hours and keeps the candle from tunneling.
Trim the wick
Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before every burn. A short wick burns cleaner and keeps soot off the vessel.
Burn time
Burn for no more than 3 to 4 hours at a time, then let the wax cool completely before relighting.
Placement
Place your candle on a flat, heat-safe surface, away from drafts, fans, and anything flammable. Keep it out of reach of children and pets, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
Extinguishing
Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Stop using the candle when about 1/2 inch of wax remains.
Reusing your vessel
Once the candle is finished, clean out any remaining wax and reuse the vessel for small treasures or as a catch-all.
